Barbara and Richard Rubens lead the firm with over 35 years of experience in the field, of custom furniture design along with their talents in architectural and interior design.  For over 18 years, the team had a 3000 square foot showroom in the prestigious Decoration and Design Building, in New York City where they designed, manufactured, distributed and sold home furnishings throughout the world.

Their design projects have brought them to Presidential Palaces, villas, country homes and city residences of all sizes. They pride themselves on client satisfaction and they specialize in making a project totally enjoyable and stress free.
This talented team prides themselves in being able to implement the design of a single room or special piece of furniture to the creative development of the design of the total project by working hand in hand with architects and licensed professionals through the construction and or renovation. They excel in handling the project from the initial idea to the supply and customization of the furnishings and or services down to the finest detail and can handle any aspect of the process For those clients that are busy professionals the team offers complete “turn-key” services.

Barbara & Richard know that each individual client has specific tastes and desires whether they wish contemporary, transitional, traditional, or eclectic surroundings. They know that design is a very personal process and that to implement such they must explore each client’s unique situation and interpret their needs. Their experience allows them to handle any aspect of either the residential or commercial project from the initial design to the specification and purchasing of furnishings and/or services to job supervision.

BIOGRAPHY OF BARBARA RUBENS LEAD DESIGNER

Educated at Hunter College in New York and Fashion Institute of Technology, Barbara was co-founder of the former Tomorrow Designs, Corp.  a showroom in New York’s premier Decoration & Design Building in which she used her talents from 1970 through 1987 in designing, manufacturing and distributing home furnishings to designers, architects, hotels, night clubs and residences, etc. In the years following the showroom business, Barbara concentrated more on private Architectural and Interior Design and Job supervision and created what is now known as Design Quest NY, Ltd.

Barbara’s work has been featured in many publications, such as, Architectural Design, Interior Design, Contract, Hamptons, Vogue, Bazaar, Elle, etc. Her unique masterpiece of her own Hampton’s residence has been featured in fashion publications commercials, and videos all over the world. Her residential and commercial projects have taken her talents from boutiques to grand ballrooms to residences of all sizes, including large estates and even an overseas Presidential Palace.

Barbara is a true designer and even though she loves contemporary she knows that being talented is to be able to design for her client’s tastes and desires. Her accomplished works are both in the modern and traditional style and she excels at all.
